If grid-manager ever lands, there is a comment in client.py (around line 863 in init_storage) pointing out: if grid-manager is enabled, the user may have configured a certificate that is expired (or has become expired since they added it) and then may be confused as to why their storage-server is not being used by clients.

The software should warn the user if they've configured any expired certificates.
